n our exhibition 'A Place Apart', visual artist Ane Vester (born 1963 in Denmark) delved deep into the Queens' building, further expanding her archive of colour samples.
Having studied art at the Royal College of Arts in London, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and the Danish Design School, the artist now lives and works in Brussels, Belgium. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Belgium and abroad.
This is the first time that Ane Vester displayed her archive of colour samples. These samples evoke everyday objects and the subjective recollections associated with them. Vester's body of work reflects on colour, revealing that it is always perceived differently and influenced by memories, combinations, and juxtapositions.
In this duo exhibition with Lucile Bertrand, Vester has created 'a palette that reflects a sense of space and time, as well as the soul of the house.' Her work invites you to view the spaces from a fresh perspective. You will (re)discover the house and the memories of its former residents, as whispered by the colourful walls.
